We hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas! Christopher and Ava sure did, and Santa brought them LOTS of presents to enjoy :) Christopher was way more into Christmas this year than he was last year, and I think he will have even more fun next year. Ava decided to wake up at 3:30 Christmas morning, and didn't really want to go back to sleep, so she was asleep by the time the present unwrapping was going on. Needless to say, it felt like a very long day!
Ava is doing really well and is growing like crazy. She is still such a happy baby - always smiling and squealing :) At her 4 month check-up in early December she was weighing about 17 1/2 pounds, and she sure feels like she may have gained another pound or so. She has started eating food, and her favorite are sweet potatoes...with some peas snuck in there ;) She can now go in her jumperoo and has lots of fun jumping around. She has rolled over a couple of times but still needs a little practice.
Christopher is also doing really well and has also gone through a little growth spurt. He is now as tall as our countertops, and is still getting used to that because he bumps his head on them where he used to be able to go underneath them. It's crazy to think that he will be 2 next month - time flies! He has been talking up a storm lately, and it is amazing what he has learned. He knows his alphabet, can count to 13 (although you can't really understand 11, 12, 13 and sometimes skips 4 and 5), colors, a few shapes, and he has started to put 3 words together when talking. Watching all of that develop is so fun to watch! His favorite Christmas gift this year was his train set which has been occupying most of his time this past week.
Lucky Grandpa (or "Pa" as Christopher calls him) came down for the week, and Lucky Grandma ( "Gum" ) left with him to go back home yesterday :( Lucky Grandma was a huge help to us over the past 5 months, and we were very sad to see her go. Ava will be starting daycare where Christopher goes when my vacation is over in a week. Christopher absolutely loves it there, so we are confident that Ava will be just as happy there :)
