October

Hi Everyone :) I can't believe it's already that time, but I will be going back to work in a week and a half :( Including my summer vacation, I have been off for 5 months...kind of hard to get back in the "work mode." I have really enjoyed my time home with both of the little munchkins, and will really miss getting to spend the days with them. They have been keeping us VERY busy - I can't imagine what we even did with all of our free time before they came along!

Christopher is 21 months and is at such a fun age right now. He is as busy as ever, and is about to be talking up a storm. Don't get me wrong, he does talk up a storm already, but we just can't always understand what he is saying ;) He knows so many words now and is beginning to put words together into phrases...so neat to watch the progression. His favorite things right now are playing outside, DIRT (eating it included), trains, and coloring with chalk. As always, he loves going outside and will just meander around inspecting and playing with everything. Every stick he finds is the best stick ever, and he will usually point out that it is shaped like a certain letter. He also likes bugs...groan..., and manages to find them in the grass SOMEHOW! The other day we found him "playing" with a spider as he was letting it crawl on his hand excitedly saying, "bug, bug!" Apparently he doesn't know that we have poisonous spiders down here in Georgia! I can't wait until he realizes that he has pockets that he can put little critters in...

Ava had her 2 month check-up yesterday, and apparently we create some monster babies in our house! She is already 13 lbs, which is just a pound less than what Christopher weighed at this age and she is 23 inches long. She has grown 1 1/2" in the last month. It's crazy how fast they grow in the beginning! She is such a happy baby, and has started cooing and smiling in these past few weeks. She loves when you talk to her, and she will coo along in response :)

Fast forward to the last 40 seconds if you don't have time to watch the whole video!

Coloring with Grandma

We love to color but don't quite understand why we have to stay at the table with the crayons...coloring usually ends in a wrestling match trying to get the crayons away from him

Happy Fall!

Happy Fall, Everyone! I've added a bunch of new pictures from the past couple of months. Ava is now 7 weeks old - time literally flies with kids! We are all adjusted and settling into a routine now. Both kiddos are doing really well, and Christopher is being a great big brother :) He does get a little jealous, but overall, he is doing really well with her. Don't get me wrong, he definitely has his moments....like when he BRUSHES against Ava with his hand and cries and pretends that she hurt him....or the occasional, really sly push or kick....haha! And then there are the really cute moments when he gives her kisses, or not-so-gentle tickles, or looks for her under the couch pillows when she is upstairs napping :)

Ava is super sweet and doing really well. She weighs 10lbs now and has grown 2 1/2 inches since she was born! She is doing really well sleeping, and we think she MIGHT be close to sleeping through the night, or maybe that is just our wishful thinking. She usually only gets up once, though, so we really can't complain! The little red spot on Ava's head is called a hemangioma - just a collection of blood vessels - completely harmless and will go away on its own by the time she is 4 or 5ish. They usually grow bigger during their first year, so that's why it's becoming more noticeable as she is getting older.

Below are LOTS of pictures from the past couple of months! Enjoy!
